The 2010 EAMA Prize guidelines and submission deadline information is now available.

The EAMA Prize 2010 will be awarded to a work of profound artistic message, possessing a unique musical voice, and demonstrating clear, direct power of communication.
The winner of the EAMA Prize for 2010 will be awarded $9,000 (U.S.)


The Application deadline for the 2010 EAMA Prize is Friday, April 16, 2010 (POSTMARK)

The Winner will be announced in September 2010.



Composers of all nationalities, of any age, race and gender may submit one work. EAMA does not discriminate base on musical style, nationality, age, gender, race, ethnicity, religion, or political persuasion.

The EAMA Prize is an award based on the quality and communicative power of a musical work, not on its length or instrumental forces.

   


Composers must adhere strictly to the following application procedure:

  1. Submit one(1) completed and signed application form (downloadable)
  2. Submit three (3) copies of the entire score of work.
    • The work must have a cover page with title and a PSEUDONYM for the composer.
    • The score must bear NO reference to the identity of the composer. Please make sure copyright notices have been entirely removed.
  3. Submit three (3) copies of a recording (CD, DVD, or Cassette only will be accepted) of the work.
    • The recording must bear only the title of the work and the composer's pseudonym. If there are multiple movements, each movement should be given a separate track of precise cue numbers given for the Cassette.
  4. A short statement ( in English ) regarding the composer's view on the relationship between the submitted work and the listener.
    • This statement must bear at the top of the page, the title of the work and the pseudonym of the composer only.
  5. CV or Bio for the composer must be included in a sealed envelope bearing on it ONLY the words Composer CV or Bio, title of the work and PSEUDONYM for the composer.
  6. Concerning the Return of Materials:
    For US submission only:
    Enclose an Envelope of sufficient size with correct US Postage already affixed to envelope and exact address printed clearly. The Return Address on your SASE must be completed as follows:

    The EAMA prize will not process any FED EX, UPS, or any other private company envelopes for the return of materials.
    While we make every effort to ensure that the materials with properly completed SASE will be returned safely to the composer, we are not responsible for any loss of, or damage to, any materials submitted for consideration. No materials will be returned without a properly completed self-addressed stamped envelope or mailer included with submission. EAMA Prize cannot be responsible for any postal rate changes which may occur between submission and return of materials.
    International Submissions:
    The EAMA Prize cannot return any materials submitted from outside the United States.

The 2010 EAMA Prize will be announced in September, 2010

If in the opinion of the judging panel, no applicant merits the EAMA Prize, it shall not be awarded.

Juries will be disclosed at the time of award announcement.
